Note from Webmaster (details taken from the 1969 Impala magazine):
Ian Macpherson (Nicholson House) won all his diving competitions against other schools in 1969, and also won all the diving events for boys
under 16 at the Kenya Diving Championships that year.
David Isherwood (Nicholson House) - in the 1969 Kenya Swimming Championships, he won seven individual events and was
presented with the much coveted award for the most outstanding swimmer in the championships. He also broke four inter-school records
and throughout the 1969 season he remained undefeated!! During the school gala (above) David broke the school records for
100 yards freestyle and 100 yards backstroke, and for this tremendous achievement he won the Victor Ludorum.
At the 1969 Kenya Open Swimming Championships, Nairobi School won the Sheikh Challenge Shield (for the third year running!!) for the school gaining the most
points at the championships - this was largely due to the success of Ian Macpherson and David Isherwood, but mention must also
go to David Montgomery who won both of the breastroke events!!
