Rick Pearce (Scott 1952-54) comments:
I followed Roger Whittaker through school from the Hill School Eldoret in 1947 to the
Primary School where he had a shower of "Tackies" hurled at him every time he picked up that
damn guitar. Then I turned up in the same house as him at the PoW.
Mike Stephens is (as you view the photo) third row down, second in from your right with
glasses. He is now a game ranger in the Kruger National Park.
Maxwell he is Head of House in the photo you can see the crown in the banana
skin. He and I apparently used to play together when about two years old. They lived next door.
We were both born in Uganda.
Chadwick was the Housemaster, a man who was always giving me a hard time over Satis cards.
Some one who I feel should get a mention in the famous old boys bit is the chap standing
out slightly from the rest immediately behind the pree's on your right, Alan Root. He has
made some of the best Wild Life films for T.V. that I have ever seen. He does some from a
balloon and they are the best.
Yank Evans, who in company with Alan Root, specialised in catching snakes, succeeded in
making more pocket money than the rest of us could ever dream of, by catching a Gaboon Viper
and selling it to a Zoo.
