I see elswhere on the web site the bicycle safaris are mentioned in a few places, one claiming to have started it. Well, Jan
Englebrecht and I started it in 1954 where we came 1st. This 1955 photo shows my team (it was my bike so I was the boss!!)
of L-R: Robert Walsh, Peter Billowes & Jacobus Johannes Englebrecht, but we could only manage 8th place. We chose Peugeot T21 because that was the name
and number of the car that won the EA Rally.
