Steve Le Feuvre was visiting Boston on business (for the 132nd Annual Meeting
of the International Trademark Association) and had a spare
afternoon. So, together with Jack Wehner they organised a luncheon
for Old Cambrians living in the Boston area and this took place on Saturday 22nd May
2010.Six Old Cambrians and two guests had a splendid lunch at the
Union Oyster House on Union Street right in the heart of 'old'
Boston. Claiming to be America's oldest restaurant having been
established in 1826, it is renowned for its clam chowder recipe
......... and that certainly was an excellent choice for a starter!!
Several hours were spent over a leisurely lunch, and there were
many memories and recollections shared throughout. It doesn't matter
whether, as in this case, you were at the school during the 60s, 70s
or 80s, experiences of life at the school are very similar, and we
are all grateful for the wonderful education and life experiences
that were offered to us
during our time there.
From my perspective, I am indebted to Jack Wehner who took on the
responsibility of organising the venue and coordinating those
attending. There were a couple of last-minute cancellations due to
family reasons, but it is hoped that this can become an annual event
in this beautiful part of the north eastern corner of the USA. So,
if you didn't make it this year, then no doubt you will have an
opportunity of joining in next year.
