Mini-Reunion - South Africa - July 2008
Photos & text supplied by Cecil "Tubby" Johnston
In September 2004, Cecil "Tubby" Johnston, Tony Burton and Terry Walton had a reunion in George, South Africa.
Another reunion took place in Bangor, Co. Down, in July 2006 and following an invitation from Terry another reunion
took place in South Africa in July, 2008.
This time Tony Burton was unable to attend, however Cecil Johnston was accompanied by his wife, Lesley and youngest
daughter Ashleigh.
We met Terry, his friend Joan and daughter Jacqui in Cape Town and from there we all went on a 14 day safari to Namibia.
It was a most wonderful trip and Namibia is an amazing country to visit. Altogether we travelled about 3900 miles
much of which was on very poor dusty desert roads. The safari lodges we stayed in were superb and a good time was
had by all especially the two Clive House pals as we remembered our time at the old school.
After our safari we spent a week with Terry at his home in George and following this Lesley, Ashleigh and I spent 4
days in Capetown before flying home.
This was a wonderful holiday and we have memories to treasure for ever
