On 10th September, 2005, six OC's plus companions got together at the Epping RSL in Sydney to watch a broadcast of the All
Blacks vs Australia rugby match, which was then followed by a very nice dinner. All are Sydney residents except for Martin
Langley who was visiting from Houston, Texas. Brian Galton-Fenzi had just moved to Sydney from Perth and was pleased to
meet up with fellow OC's.
Also present was Ann Turner, widow of OC Brian Turner, who passed away in February 2005, and who did
so much to bring together OC's and ex-KR in Australia. Ann passed on a couple of items of memorabilia that belonged to
Brian including a large photo of the Impala Club rugby section in 1960 and an autographed menu of a POW/OC reunion dinner
held at the school in November 1956 - these will be posted on the website in due course. The Impala Club in Nairobi started
off life as the sporting arm of the OC Society in Nairobi but was later renamed the Impala Club and opened to ex-students
of all East African schools.
Note from Webmaster:
During his stay in Sydney, Martin Langley visited Brian Turner's final resting place, where his ashes are buried. Martin has
supplied me with a couple of photos which I'm sure many Old Cambrians and Kenya Regiment Association members will appreciate
being able to see. Martin and Brian were very good pals over many years, and stalwart supporters of (and contributors to) this web site
