L-R: Iain "Chura" Chalmers (Nicholson 1954-57), Martin Langley (Nicholson 1956-61), Dave McFarnell (Nicholson 1958-63), Mike Lawrence-Brown (Rhodes 1957-62), Stevie Phillips (Rhodes 1956-60), Stan Bleazard (Grigg/Rhodes/Scott 1945-48)

To coincide with the visit to Western Australia by Martin Langley, six Old Cambrians plus two companions met at the Mambo Italiano restaurant at City Beach, Perth. Another OC, Charlie Bush (Nicholson 1957-61, approximately) was out of town and unable to attend. An enjoyable evening was spent reminiscing and for Dave McFarnell and Mike Lawrence-Brown who played for the school 1st XI hockey team in 1962, it was the first time they had made contact since leaving school - in fact each did not know the other was living in Perth !!! Steve Phillips also played 1st XI hockey for the school as did his older brother Graham (Rhodes 1954-58 ?) who sadly passed away some years ago. It seems there are many OC's in greater Perth and other areas of WA. This mini reunion was put together with 24 hrs notice and doubtless a lot more would have showed up with more notice.
