Comment from Alastair McCrae in an e-mail of 17th Feb 2006:
Clark lived in Bukoba, way the other side of Lake Victoria, and I always felt sorry for him that he had to spend ten days
travelling home and back. It was particularly hard on him in the short Easter hols which were only three weeks. He was
very artistic and did an excellent free-hand watercolour painting of a ship in full sail in my sister's autograph album.
This would have been when he came on a leave-out with us to Kiambu. He used his artistic talents to run a weekly
space-travel thriller comic strip which was pasted up on the inside of the windows in one of the downstairs class-rooms.
A very likeable, unassuming boy and a good friend.
