   Obituary - Peter Ossent

Peter Ossent

Nickname: Cosh
House: Scott
Years: 1962-1965

On 4th January 2011, Webmaster received an e-mail from Alistair Booth (Rhodes 1961-3):

Very sadly, I have just learnt of Peter Ossent's untimely death last March (2010), presumably in his home country of Switzerland. This news came via an e-mail from his wife Eva to David Russell, a fellow Kericho Primary School friend. It was a great shock to us all, particularly as it apparently occurred some nine months ago immediately after he retired.

The following was Peter's entry in the Alumni section of this web site prior to his death:

Pete Ossent

Nickname: Cosh
House: Scott
Year: 1962-1965

I left Kenya to do A-levels at the College of Technology, Plymouth. We were 4 or 5 people from the Prince of Wales School there at that time. Then in 1967 I went to University in Zürich, Switzerland (Veterinary medicine).

Quite soon after qualifying I joined the department of veterinary pathology at the same faculty and apart from a break of a year's duration in the Netherlands, I have worked in Zürich as a lecturer and diagnostic pathologist ever since. I live with my wife (no kids) in Winterthur, a town close to Zürich.
