On 6th October 2008, Webmaster received an e-mail from Sylvia Skiba:
Dear Steve,
Just to let you know that Ian passed away at 7.30pm last night. He has left his body to medical science so there won't
be a funeral but a 'wake'.
Once I have any more details I will let you know.

A few days previous to this, Webmaster had received an e-mail from Rod Collier stating that Ian had been admitted to St. John's Hospice,
Moggerhanger, Bedford.
Sylvia Skiba e-mailed again on 13th October 2008 as follows:
Just to let you know Ian's wake, celebration of his life, was yesterday. It was very short notice as his daughter had
to go back to The States.
Ian had organised everything beforehand and had left a list of who should be invited. Peter & I and John & Jan Davis
were invited. Peter, John & Jan went but unfortunately I couldn't.
Note from Webmaster:
At the time of his death, Ian was Treasurer of the Old Cambrian Society (UK Branch).
Ian took over as Treasurer in late 1987 when the previous holder of that position (John Reid) retired, and we are indebted
to him for 21 years of devoted service to our society.
Our thoughts and sincere sympathy go out to Val and the family.
