Years: 1956-1959

Memories of School:
  • Slaloming my pedal wheelchair round Scott house on deserted weekends.
  • Breaking my leg iron and having to wait days for it to get welded up.
  • Always being late for class.
  • Hugely enjoying chemistry with Watson, and Biology with Seldon.
    Actually, I don’t have time to lay down the memories that are flooding back!

    Since leaving School:
  • Qual in UK 1964: BSc (Hons) Botany, Zoology (Chemistry subsidiary) - London
  • 1965: Postgrad Cert Ed - Sussex
  • 1965-1967: Science teacher, Kiira college Uganda. Marriage to VSO.
  • 1968-1971: Research and Development manager, Seasalter Oyster hatchery, UK. Daughter Sarah.
  • 1972: Science teacher UK. Divorce from VSO
  • 1973-1978: Biology and Science teacher, The Gap SHS Brisbane
  • 1978-1979: Sailed steel sloop “Thurloo” to New Guinea and Solomons with wife and 1 year old son Ben.
  • 1980: Camp Hill SHS Science teacher
  • 1981–Present time: Brisbane School Of Distance Education Biology and Science Teacher.
  • 1985: Teacher exchange to Grand Forks BC Canada
  • 1991-1994: Sailed with wife and two sons ( Rene aged 9 and Ben,13) in 40 foot steel cutter Brisbane - India – Red Sea – Med – Gib – West Indies – Panama – Galapagos – Pacific – Brisbane. A sort of prolonged party. The kids studied by correspondence
