I read with a grin John Davis' "Sanatorium bring fearful memories of large nurses clad in white
with blancoed shoes" and their winsome ways with needles and cabbage (See Old Cambrian Society
Newsletter Nov 2002). One of these dragons
was/is my mother - Peggy Welford - still alive, approaching her 90th birthday in Ballarat,
Victoria, Australia. Brain is still very active if the body a little wanting. She was tickled
pink when I read her that part of John's report and muttered something like 'it was all
worthwhile then if he is still alive after such trauma'!!!
