Prior to POW, attended Hill School, Eldoret.
Not excelled at anything - academic or sporting, but did manage to pull off a good School Cert!
Then Plateau Wattle Co. in Eldoret and EA Tanning Co in Kikuyu until military call-up mid 1953.
Support Coy. until into Home Guards then small arms and combat training at Thika Prison Camp. To
Vet Labs at Kabete.
Married Ann Springer of Kitale and left for two years in the UK. Obtained Associateship of
British Medical Lab. Technology specialising in bacteriology. Two sons born in the UK.
Moved to South Africa and joined firm of medical diagnosticians - 9 years. Moved to
Rhodes University and to senior technician at JLB Smith Institute of Ichthyology.
Retired 1994 and since then trying to make ends meet! Spent almost whole life making and
crashing a long succession of aircraft models and a more successful assemblage of boat and ship
models (one of which was blown up by the IRA!). Ended up researching the history and lifestyle
of coelacanth fishes and western Indian Ocean dugout outrigger canoes.
Anything more would take up more bandwidth than is necessary!!!!
