Hawke 1956/8 .....Grigg 1958/61 (I’m an identical twin, and twins were split up on going to senior House)
Some memories:
CCF army camp where we nearly got shot with a live ammunition exercise with dockleman on a machine gun!!!
Jonny Riddel always catching us out with hands in pockets on shopping trips to Nairobi and having to do 10
pressups on the spot.
Being taught English by Agatha Ridley, what an incredible lady.
Mr Hirst, Mr Seldon, Mr Gammie, Mr Macgregor....... what characters!
Since Leaving School
Joined Bristish Thompson Houston in Rugby as an electrical engineering apprentice (2 Years) then went into shipping
joining The Manchester Ship Canal Company (Port of Manchester) for 6 years.
Joined Cunard in 1969 but the company changed ownership 4 times over the last 36 years and I am still here working
for Atlantic Container Line (now owned by Grimaldi) as Rollon/Rolloff special projects Co-ordinator, retiring in 2 years,
god willing.
Wife, Joan; son, Peter (28) daughter (24)
Living in Irby, Wirral, Cheshire.
I did’nt know until I read the article on Mr Fletcher that he originated in West Kirby, which is only 2 miles down the road….
Great to be back ......I spoke with Rev. Harry Brice end of last year, which came as quite a shock as the last information
we had on him was that he had died at sea back in the late sixties. It came as a shock to him to !!
