I was a Clive House (the best!)
Kenya born and bred, I remained in Kenya until 1970 when I left to go to South Africa
looking for greener pastures for my family. I remained in SA until 1980 then moved
to Australia where I am at the moment.
I have fond memories of Jake (Flecher) the Headmaster and less fond memories of his successor,
Wigmore. I can still recall Jake using a piece of string in place of a belt to hold his pants
up.
Being a 'day bug' I suppose I didn't sample the true atmosphere of the inner circles of the
School, but looking back on it after the many years that have since passed, it was a wonderful
experience culminating in memories that often keep me reminiscing for
hours at a time. I recall spending many hours in the metal-workshop (obviously not the academic
student!) helping to build and manufacture the PoW School sign which was proudly displayed for
many years and was in fact still there when I left Kenya in 1970.
