House: Hawke
Years: 1945-1947

Memories of School:
  • Living under canvas in the main quad, first term whilst accommodation was being completed. Then a spell in the intermediate facility, before finally moving into new buildings up next to the stables where Mr. James had his horses.
  • "Bush" & "Vluitje", another was the American "I'll put you in my local incinerator for two hours on Saturday afternoon" referring to detention in the science lab, ground floor of main building.
  • Stanning, Georgiaddis and a few other older boys were used as teachers because of the War.

    Since leaving School:
    Kenya Regiment & KPR during "Mau-Mau", then Merchant navy (engineer) S.Africa, railways, BP, Shell, Durban City Police, Highway Patrol, got married and moved to Australia 1976, newspaper security, have now retired.

    Living in Murrumbeena, Victoria, Australia.
