After A-levels I went to study at the University of Birmingham and graduated with a commerce degree in banking &
finance. I had my mind set on becoming a banker after a careers talk delivered at Nairobi school during my O-level year
(1974 ). When I returned to Kenya in 1980 I was fortunate in that the local crop of from University of Nairobi were
delayed in graduating (because they had been a short spell during which they had been closed) and I was able find a
job very quickly.
I started off at Commercial Bank of Africa and then moved to Citibank. My boss for many of the years at Citibank was
Terry Davidson (Scott 1965-1968). Currently I am working for a Kenyan Financial Services company which is part of
the South African Standard Bank Group.
I live in Nairobi.
