Year: 1946-1950

Good memories of School.

Since leaving POW, I joined the Registrar General's Dept in Nairobi as a Junior clerk in the Probate and Administration Section until Dec 1951. Along with many others I was called up for Military Service and sent to Rhodesia for 6 months Training. On completion I returned to my job with the Registrar General, only to be recalled to military service in Sept/Oct 1962 for Mau Mau Operation. I served with the KAR until Dec 1953 and became a D.O. KG in Nairobi, where I remained until April 1956. After 6 months leave in England I returned as D.O. in Thika, Karatina and then back to Nairobi.

I left the Kenya Government in 1958 to become Welfare Officer with Unga Limited with whom I workek until 1961. During this time I met my wife, we were married at St.Austin's Church, in 1960.

My wife and I returned to England in 1961. I obtained a job in a Stationers and enjoyed the work and remained in this line of business until I retired In 1997. We live in Stratford-upon-Avon where we have been since 1975.
