Carl Pallister

House: Nicholson
Years: 1952-1956

School Days
    Fond memories of:-
  • Nicholson House - The best!
  • P. Fletcher (Jake) - A remarkable man and a friend to all.
  • F.H. Goldsmith (Fritz) - Gave me a lot of encouragement.
  • E.A.Lofthouse (Lofty) [plus quam perfectum] - He taught me sentence structure and how to analyse the written word.
  • A.J. Philips (Taff) - Persuaded his pupils to buy J.H.Plum’s England in the 18th Century AND even made it sound interesting.

Later Life
  • Joined the RAF from Southern Rhodesia in1959 and served for 18 years as a pilot. Served in Northern Ireland, Singapore, Scotland and as an Exchange Officer with the Canadian Armed Forces. Left the RAF as a Sqn Ldr in 1977 for Civil Aviation and flew as a Captain with Dan Air and British Airways.
  • Married Mai Davies in 1961 and we have lived in Sussex since leaving the RAF.
