   Arthur Omolo Ogonji

Arthur Omolo Ogonji

Nickname: Taya
House: Elgon (Clive)
Years: 1985-1987

Memories of School:
  • Being part of the great achievements of the Rugby team in 1987 when we won all trophies except the Prescott cup.
  • Winning the John Andrews seven aside Rugby against the Rift Valley Academy (RVA) with only five players after two of our team mates got injured in 1987.
  • I had the privilege of playing alongside Kenya’s great rugby heroes like Edward Rombo, Eric Kibe, Steve Wesonga, Paul Murunga, Agasso, Said “Cop”, Nyangabyaki, Emuye, Anampiu and others that I cannot recall at the moment.
  • Elgon (Clive) supplied eight players to the 1987 Rugby 1st XV, and won all the inter-house rugby trophies that year. It was the greatest year I had in school.

    Since leaving School:
I studied for and graduated with B.Com degree (Bachelor of Commerce) in Cost Accounting at the University of Pune in India. I worked as an accountant with Air France, Regional Air and currently as finance manager for the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in West Africa.

I’ve been married to a lovely wife since 2000 and have two lovely daughters. I am currently living in Guinea Conakry but expect to be back in Nairobi at the end of December 2007.
