Feisal Nanji

House: Clive
Year: 1972-1977

I spent six very proud years at Nairobi School. Mr Bentley (our Clive Housemaster) was my Maths teacher for my final two years (Form 5 and Form 6). I was in the School 1stX1 cricket team for my final two years. Some of my favorite teachers were -- Bentley (Maths), Suttie (English), Mollison (English), Weeks (English), Priestley (Chemistry), Kibumbu (Chemistry), Huddlestone (Biology).

I was generally well behaved, but I managed to find myself on "Working Party" a couple of times .......(in fact, I think a certain Steve Le Feuvre led one of them on a lovely Nairobi Saturday afternoon in 1975!!). I also got caned by Mr. Packwood for stealing an extra hibiscus in Biology class after botching the first dissection ..... (the bio teacher sent me to Packwood to get punished!!)

After Nairobi School I went to the University of Notre Dame (in the US) for undergraduate work, and then after that to Harvard for a Masters Degree. I now live in New York City and work for Ernst & Young in the technology space, having criss-crossed the globe in many other different roles and endeavours. I haven't been back to Kenya since 1989, but I have very fond memories of my birth place.

I'm in touch with a couple of Nairobi School folk from my latter years, and have many, many memories.
