James Mugane

House: Fletcher/Marsabit (Scott)
Years: 1974-1977

Memories:
One evening in my second week in School in Fletcher House, a Form 2 bully, Kuyo, from Clive House passed by to harass form ones. Unfortunately we were walking towards each other on the orange fibre carpet in the middle of the dorm. When he got close, I stood aside to give him way. But he stopped and called me a 'rabble'. He asked me who I was. I hesitated, causing him to promptly plant his knee into my groin. The effect was total! The pain was so great that my whole body went numb. As I slowly fell on my knees in pain, not hearing or seeing anything around me for a while, he marched away and, as if from very far away, I heard him say "I am a German soldier. I never smile". During that year I was voted the smartest Form 1 boy in Fletcher. I didn't bully anyone in my time and Was made a monitor - a job that I did well for the Prefects but in the process dissapointed my classmates from Junior house (who had joined Fletcher) as they claimed I was too strict. I was Class Monitor from Form 2 to Form 4 and was made basketball Captain in Form 4.

I have many more memories!!

Career:
I am an accountant, and now a business man in procurement and general supplies. Import and export.

I live in Nairobi.
