I have just found the website by complete chance. Delighted to find that there is a Old Cambrian Society group in Canada,
where I have been living since 1975, and to follow the link to the Hill School, Eldoret, which I also attended, and of
course to reminisce through the info on some of the Alumni and staff.
I was in Clive House and went on to Cambridge University (following Roger Garside, with whom I was in touch for a while).
Did VSO with the Electricity Board in Uganda and worked for Associated Electrical Industries in the UK before a long
career in aviation, first with BOAC in the UK and the UN Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, followed by many
years with the International Civil Aviation Organization (a UN organization with HQ here in Montreal).
Took early retirement in 1999, now run my own air transport consultancy and am also Representative to ICAO for the World
Tourism Organization (another UN organization). Both these are part-time; so lots left over for travel, canoeing in the
wilderness, cross-country skiing, relaxing at our chalet in the Laurentian Mountains, etc.
Married another VSO in 1971 and we have three grown-up kids, two in Vancouver and one in Montreal. I have been back to
Africa frequently, but only managed to visit the School once.
