Became Head Bugler in the school band.
Never any good at sport.
Career:
Insurance. Became Manager Boarder region, South Africa and later Natal, SA.
Retired early, ill health - and the company merged 6 months afterwards.
Thank goodness I moved to PoW. It made a man out of me. If I had stayed at St. Mary's I would have flunked my
School Cert - and although I did not excel at sport, I was really fit when I left.
I am now back in UK. SA is lovely to visit but not to live. Crime and an uncertain political future are the
reasons for my return after nearly 60 years in Africa.
I still have my OC blazer badge and tie. AND my school tie.
