Joined Athi from Junior House/Tana where the Head of House, Prefects, senior monitors and monitors were more powerful than the
teachers. We feared Prefects more than teachers hence reporting any incident that happened in the house was suicidal
just incase this came up in the common room . Leave Tana, enter Athi House, find Opot "old papa" and mix with characters
from Naivasha. Welcome to senior house. We made a formidable team in whatever we did from then, even if it was jumping
fence to eat "Mitura in Kangemi or a beer at Rwathia in town", whether on the pitch for hockey or Rugby, Athi House at
least between 1991 and 1993, we were the best.
Long live - Ambe, Katua, Kimanzi, Kirabira, Wafula, Gachigua, Kiragu, Waricha, Sharuti, Madiavale, Mohammed, Omulo, Ouma,
Oganga, Mukasa, Owiti, Odiyo, Nyamosi, Hussein, Gathonga, Kinuthia ER, Festus Mbuimwe, Oyula - atleast we went through
Athi together and left Pamoja. Classmates - the late Mwangi PM, Mapoz , Fred Kiarie, Maurice Maina, Waweru SK, Kirui,
Wangombe, Njeru, Macharia, Omera.
I vividly remember GWETA our housemaster who was followed by Muthui. I remember his Cane as if it was yesterday.
Since leaving 'Patch', did accounting at Strathmore even though am still struggling to finish CPA and Banking at Kenya
school of monetary studies.
Currently working at Sdv Transami in the finance department, Credit control.
I live in Kikuyu, hence pass by 'Patch' at least twice a day. I remember something new almost on a daily basis about 'Patch'.
I visit the school every now and then, and even though things are not the same any more, its still 'Patch' and boys
there know it.
