Left School for the Kenya Regiment - Fort Hall area as a DO - transferred to Forestry
in the Nakuru, Mau area. Tried farming our old farm in the Eldoret/Kitale area.
Then married Nancy Gledhill and moved to Uganda, Karamoja, to go contracting.
Built many schools for the Government, and new roads, funded by United Nations.
Also helped to develop ranches for FAO (supervised by Steve Stevens) near Gulu, and did a lot
for the Kidepo Game Park on the Sudan border. And that is when I was shot through the face
whilst in a plane with Ian Ross the Game warden. Spent 6 months in Malago Hospital, Kampala.
Our children were on the way by now so we migrated in 1970 (just before Idi Amin) to
Western Australia where I have been with the Agricultural Dep't ever since.
Nancy has run several of her own businesses. Still ride my pushy to work each day and am
considering retirement.
