On the whole I have happy memories of the old school, the staff and my friends there. Sadly my time there was during the
Emergency so we were surrounded by barbed wire - not that it deterred anyone from either getting in or out! Its funny how
certain events stick in ones mind. I remember in 1952 we had our own Coronation Safari Rally on bicycles around the
school, we smoked behind the dhobi house, enjoyed our sports, we danced the "cabbage walk" with the girls from the
Kenya High School (heifer boma), and must have been reasonably well taught since many of us attended good universities.
PF was a great headmaster and a very kind and thoughtful man.
Today I am retired in Bellingham (Washington State - USA) after nearly 30 years as an agriculturist with the World Bank.
I am still mixed up with conservation, having founded the Vetiver Network
- a sort of international hobby!
