I remember Mr Reid and Mr Cowie as Housemaster and Assistant Housemaster of Hawke. I was always in trouble and believe
that I was the most beaten boy in the house! (I probably deserved it!). I remember going to the "Duka" with my friends
and buying condensed milk.
I was a Mombasa boy and therefore remember well the train down from the coast with the Duke of York kids and some from St
Mary's - I had friends at both.
I left PoW to go to boarding school in England (Hardy's in Dorchester), and subsequently entered the British Merchant
navy with the Cunard Line as an Engineer Officer. I went to Zambia in the early to mid 1970s where I became the factories
manager for Cadbury Schweppes. I joined the Coca-Cola Company in 1978 and retired (early) in 2001 as Vice-President and
Director of Engineering for the global business. I am now retired and living on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
