I accessed the site for the first time today and was amazed at the memories it evoked.
Joined Princo April 1952 on arrival from the UK.
Junior House then Rhodes. Dayboy whilst living in Nairobi then boarder from early 1956 when family moved to Dar.
Paid off after School Cert Dec 1956.
Major impressions were the barbed wire entanglements around the houses, and being flogged by 'Jake' and Hewlett-Parker.
Studied structural engineering in the UK 1958-1962 but found both the job and UK too constricting. Then moved to
Melbourne, Australia working in tourism then Qantas where I stayed for 26 years largely in retail and customer
relations management.
Now retired, I live 300 km from Melbourne on the Gippsland Lakes which I find idyllic.
No knowledge of local Kenya people here except my sister, Dianne Moore (née Fearnley) who was at the Boma 1952-1955,
and my brother in law Graeme Moore (Grigg 1951-2).
