Years: 1954-1958

I joined the RAF on a Governors scholarship in January 1959. 3 years at RAF Halton 91 entry Apprentices. Returned to Nairobi on completion of training RAF Eastleigh.

Married Isobel in 1963 in Nairobi. Became a Flight Engineer in 1968 flying Hercules and VC10 transport and air to air refuelling, and left the RAF in 1987 to fly commercially for Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong

Retired early in 1995 and sailed my 52 ft yacht from Hong Kong to New Zealand via many Pacific Islands. While in Fiji joined the Fijian National Airline Air Pacific for 18 months living on my yacht in New Zealand before retiring and returning to Devon. Have 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren.
