Years: 1953-1957

Memories:
  • Cold mornings with a blanket of low cloud and mist drifting across the quadrangle.
  • "Chaddy" Chadwick's numerous popular recitals of his experiences at the battle of El Alamein.
  • Jacaranda trees in bloom along the school driveway.
  • Waiting for "Flakey's" mandatory canning after having been sent outside for misbehaviour during an English class.

    Job/career:
  • Kenya Regiment followed by two years at Egerton College
  • Farm management at Kipipiri, North Kinangop
  • Two years of study and itinerant farm work in New Zealand followed by relocation to Western Australia in 1964
  • Two years in the outback pastoral industry followed by agricultural research and marketing in the wheatbelt region.
  • Seven years with the Commonwealth Development Bank working on finance and valuation of agricultural projects throughout Western Australia.
  • Establishing a property valuation practice up to retirement in 2003.
  • After a second marriage I have been lucky enough to have two children and two step children who work variously in Australia and overseas.

    Presently living in he suburb of Woodvale, north of Perth with my wife Shirley, with plans to retire to Busselton, a coastal town in the south west of Western Australia.
