After reading medicine at Trinity College Dublin, I joined the Royal Navy for an enjoyable and fulfilling 32 years. Retired
early after promotion to Surgeon Captain so as to try different jobs in the wider world, and was ultimately headhunted to
run the Medico-Legal department for the Navy, which keeps me happily and gainfully employed.
Married to Morven (née Douglas - ex Limuru Girls School), our two adult daughters have carved successful lives in Chicago
and Uganda. We live in the Hampshire countryside, which allows me to indulge my outdoor interests of skiing, sailing,
fishing, pheasant shooting/shoot management, deer stalking and exploring on foot or bicycle.
