Cricket Colours - 1952
Was in Kenya from 1951 (November) until 1970 (June).
After national service in the Kenya Forces (Mau Mau time), joined a small insurance company, went into business
on my own 18 months later, and then merged with the London firm the Ernest Notcutt Group, Lloyds Brokers.
Returned to the City of London in 1970 to set up an investment management company for the group. 7 years later did
a management buyout and took the head office of the company to Jersey. Sold out about 9 months later and was
one of the two founders (with Tim Bettany ex-Shell Kenya, now deceased) of the Ashburton Group.
That was sold to the First Rand Group early in 2000.
Always played cricket. Latterly have played lots of golf. Meantime have run in half marathons, played
soccer, tennis and snooker.
I live in Jersey, Channel Islands.
