Memories of School:
Distracting Mr Oxlade from his lessons by getting him to reminisce about boys he’d had to cane.
The brass band marching in the quad on a cold morning.
A rather wild dance after which Mr Dollimore (the Headmaster) made everyone write “I must behave like a gentleman
at all times”….
Since leaving School:
After A-levels, had a Kenya gap year.
Went to Cape Town, studied Zoology, Doctorate in Marine Biology, got married, moved to the University of
Fort Hare (Nelson Mandela’s Alma Mater) as a Lecturer.
Now University Planner and Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research.
