   Old Cambrian Society "e-Newsletter" - 13th September 2007

e-Newsletter -    13th September 2007

Dear Old Cambrian,

This is just a very quick newsletter particularly to highlight two Old Cambrian Society events that are taking place in the next couple of weeks, and to act as a reminder for those who have not yet committed themselves to attending.

So, here goes .............

Reunion - Old Cambrian Society (South Africa

Sunday 23rd September  2007 - Stonehaven Castle, Shongweni Valley, nr. Durban, South Africa

To date there are 30 or so registrations for the event – still a bit on the slow side, so if you’re in the area and want to have a great day out catching up with some old friends,  please contact Dave Leslie to book your tickets. Dave is kindly offering his magnificent property for what promises to be a truly memorable reunion. It will be held over a long weekend, so Old Cambrians, you have no excuses. Families welcome as usual at all OCS events.

Dave is putting out a plea for a photo of the School flag as he wants to replicate it and fly it on the day. Does anyone have a clear photo (preferably in colour) of the School flag (with the Impala and motto, etc)? If so, please send a scanned copy to Dave…………and whilst you’re at it, please copy me in to it.

For more details of the event and for reserving your tickets, please click on the following link: http://www.oldcambrians.com/Reunion-Durban2007.html

Report - North American Luncheon & Weekend, organised by Old Cambrian Society (Canada

Friday 7th, Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September 2007 - Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

What a FANTASTIC weekend !! ………… I’ve just about recovered !!

Many thanks to Zahir Dharsee, Dave Allen and Dave Burn who organized a fabulous weekend ……. golf, a great reunion luncheon, and to crown it all a day out in a yellow school bus to Niagara Falls and some wine estates!!

For a report and some photos of the weekend please go to - http://www.oldcambrians.com/Photos-Reunion2007SeptMississauga.html

More photos will be published when time allows, but it might have to be when I get back from Kenya at the beginning of October.

Elections

Another candidate for Kenya’s parliamentary elections later this year.

I have been contacted by Mohamed Ali Haji (Marsabit-Scott 1988-91) - http://www.oldcambrians.com/Alumni-Haji,Mohamed.html  - who plans to contest the Wajir South constituency.

It was great meeting everyone in Canada last weekend at the First North American reunion, and I hope to see lots of Old Cambrians at the Impala Club, Nairobi on Friday 28th September.  I’ll be on holiday in Kenya from 14th Sept to 1st Oct, so if you e-mail me during that time, it’s unlikely you’ll get an instant reply as I will be in “relax mode”!! So, apologies in advance.

That's all for now!
