   Old Cambrian Society "e-Newsletter" - 21st June 2007

e-Newsletter -    21st June 2007

Dear Old Cambrian,

Where is the time going? Life in the Le Feuvre household is as hectic as ever, and I must apologise for not being able to devote as much time to Old Cambrian Society matters as I would have liked over the past few months. At work I've just taken over as senior partner and managing director of the law firm that I have been with for the past 18 years, and a few weeks ago I turned 50!! This e-mail is a rushed job, as at lunchtime today I'm off to Brazil for three weeks, attending the World Jersey Cattle Bureau annual meetings and tour. I'm treasurer of this world cattle organisation, so I just HAVE to go, even when they decide to hold their meetings at the other end of the world!! (ha ha!!).  So, unless it's desperately urgent, please don't contact me until after 11th July, as I'm not sure that I'll be able to access my e-mails at certain times during my Brazil trip.

No particular order (as usual), and due to time constraints I'll be brief (how unusual), so here goes .............

Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club (UK)
I have heard from Simon Mayes (MayesS@stswithuns.com) as follows:
"I am contacting you on behalf of Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club (UK).  We are the UK branch of the Kongonis Club based at Nairobi Club and provide an opportunity for all those who played cricket in Kenya and are now back in the UK, or who are visiting during July/August, to meet up for a two week tour in Sussex and Surrey.
We are always looking for new players, particularly younger ones, and we are starting an initiative to contact former pupils associations of Kenya schools to see if they would be happy to help us do this."
Please contact Simon if you are interested in joining them.

Athletics in Kenya
I have heard from Toby Tanser (TobyTanser@aol.com) as follows:
"I am currently researching details about athletics life in Kenya from the pre-1980's for a book on Kenyan athletics.  I have already written the book, but am working on the 'enhanced' third edition.  The first two editions were best sellers, and this issue is being written to raise funds for the charity I run in Kenya, www.shoe4africa.org (All proceeds going to support the organization).
Anyone who has any memories, about their experiences, or spectating, or even reading about athletics at this time (from any perspective), please get in touch.
If anyone has any photos they could scan they would be also most welcomed--thank you."
