Dear Old
Cambrian,
I do apologise for the
long delay in getting this edition out. It has been in draft form for the past
month or so, but other calls on my time have taken over. However, a few news
items just received have prompted me to brush off the cob-webs and start tapping
on my keyboard again. So, in time-honoured fashion, in no particular
order, here goes:

unpublished. This book charts the first 50-years of the Club's history. Volume

Calling all Old Cambrians in Washington DC,
USA
Frank Maloba (Baringo/Hawke 1980-1985) wants to
set up a U.S. Chapter of the Old Cambrian Society to organise reunions and
events. He is based in Washington DC and would like to hear from Old Cambrians
in Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC who might be interested in joining a
small steering
committee.
Please e-mail me if you are interested in getting
involved. Believe me, for relatively little effort, the rewards are
HUGE!!
Calling all Old Cambrians in Cape Town, South
Africa
Brian Jeffries (Grigg 1949-1953) has contacted me
asking if anyone plans to organise a gathering of Old Cambrians in the Cape Town
area. The last 'reunion' was in December 2004, so can I have a volunteer to
start planning the next one. I'll make sure your given all the publicity you
need to make for a successful
event.
Impala Project - Impala magazines on CD
Pre-ordered Impala CDs are in the process of being sent
out to those who ordered them. Martin Langley is handling the dispatching of CDs
for North America, Australia and New Zealand; and I am posting to the rest of
the world, time has only allowed me to do the many orders for Europe so far, and
I'm just about to contact those in Africa who had placed an order with
me.We produced 300 CDs in the first production run, and
245 of those have been pre-ordered. Many of you who have received your Impala CD
have been very generous with your compliments, and a sample of these have been
published on the web site - http://www.oldcambrians.com/impala.html

lively lot those people from Ontario are, and we were all entertained for
the whole afternoon ............ and thanks to Elvis for popping in!! Photos +

Staff - Where are
they?
I get lots of enquiries from 'old boys' wishing to know
what happened to their teachers.
Recently, George Mungai (Marsabit/Scott 1976-1979)
would like to know the whereabouts of Mr.
Nyutho who taught English at the school in the 1970s and
1980s.

Holiday destination - Fancy somewhere completely
different?
Chris
Harrison MBE (Grigg 1959-1962 and Staff 1968-1972) has recently set up a web
site for his home town - Pyin Oo Lwin in
Myanmar!
It
sounds like a truly fascinating place to visit, and Chris says "that the purpose
of having the web site - http://www.pyinoolwin.info
- is to try to attract more tourists to come here to stay, leaving a few dollars
in the local economy, and thus helping the town’s development in these
cash-strapped and sanctions-affected
days".
