50th Anniversary Mt Kilimanjaro Climb

Three
Old Cambrians will be celebrating their 50th
anniversary climb of Mt Kilimanjaro . . . . . in the bar at the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel
from 7pm on Monday 5th Sept 2011, and welcome Old Cambrians to join them for a
drink. In addition to Martin Langley (Nicholson 1956-61) there will be
John Carne (Nicholson 1957-61) who both summitted in 1961 on an Outward
Bound course, and Peter 'Samaki' Salmon (1956-61) who also summitted in
1961 but with a different group. Also, joining them on the climb will be
Andrew Langley (Nicholson 1958-62) and his wife Ann.
Martin reports: "After
Kili, we will head for Nairobi and are staying at the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel for one
night on Monday 5th Sept, with Peter Salmon staying a second night before
leaving for Europe. We then go our separate ways, with my family heading for the Masai Mara and John heading for Uganda. My group returns to Nairobi on Friday
9th September when most of them depart for home on Friday and Saturday. However,
Andrew and I will be there through the weekend, so we are planning to attend the OCS
reunion at Blanco's on 10th Sept".
Webmaster and Secretary of the OCS (UK), Steve Le Feuvre (Clive
1970-5) will be there, and his penance for not joining Martin et al on the climb
will be to buy the first round of drinks ....... at 7pm sharp!! Be late, and
you'll miss this opportunity to empty Steve's wallet!!
