School memories - rather mixed but despite my lack of interest, Hugh Cowie did try and encourage me into the Junior Colts; remember school trains Nairobi - Mombasa and Nairobi - Kampala;
Didn't make the RAF (eyesight), did join the Army (Pay Corps) - stayed long enough to qualify for the Royal British Legion (just);
Moderately successful career in oil industry, including some globetrotting in early '70's, then exile to Orkney for 25 years, now retired in N Yorkshire;
Married - 4 kids + Caitlin my granddaughter.
